Time Savers & Enhancers: Adding Videos To Your Blog

It’s hard to say WHAT I am groovin on more this month, blogging tips or Google+

I am like a kid in a candy store and my editorial calendar has gone out the window. The month of May has been a treasure trove of ideas and inspiration for me and YOU get the benefit!

I have had many great questions from newbie bloggers this week so I am gleaning those conversations and tutorials and I will be sharing them right.here. First up, adding videos to your blog.

Though you don’t want to get too crazy using videos for blog posts, it is a great way to “mix things up,” supply readers with visual information, and keep your blog current if you are pressed for time. However, many people are unsure how to add video to blogs, and it’s actually quite easy.

First, locate a relevant video on You Tube. What you need is the “embed code” from a video (html). Click “share” and then “embed.”

Copy this code, head over to your blog (let’s say you have WordPress) and in the compose area click the “HTML” tab.

Copy and past your embed code in the body area, and you’re good-to-go! Don’t be alarmed if all you see is a pinkish blank area. Click back to “Visual” (the tab next to HTML) for regular posting and finishing your blog post. If you want a sneak peek at what you just did, click the “Preview” button on the right sidebar and see what you did. DONE!

Below is a video I added using this method.

How about you? Do you have any ideas and thoughts on adding “extras” to your blog?
